BLS Healthcare Provider - Full Course & Renewal The BLS Healthcare Provider Full Course and Renewal is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. For certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed healthcare professionals. The intended audience is healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel.
ACLS Provider - Full Course & Renewal The ACLS Provider Full Course and Renewal is designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn and manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, 4 types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT), complex VF/VT, PEA, and asystole), 4 types of prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia, and acute coronary syndromes), and stroke. The intended audience is personnel staffing emergency, intensive care, or critical care departments; emergency medical providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may have a need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency.
PALS Provider - Full Course & Renewal The PALS Provider Full Course and Renewal provides the learner with (1) information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; (2) information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children; and (3) the cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest.
ECG & Pharmacology Course This comprehensive program is the perfect precourse for new and renewing ACLS and PALS providers. This course covers basic electrophysiology, normal electrocadiogram (ECG) measurements, basic arrhythmias, basic ACLS drugs, usage and routes of administration during cardiovascular emergencies and how to integrate basic drug pharmacology into ACLS algorithms.

Heartsaver CPR AED The Heartsaver AED Course teaches the basic techniques of adult CPR and the use of an AED. Students also learn about using barrier devices during CPR and giving first aid to choking victims. Optional sections cover child CPR and AED and/or infant CPR. The intended audience is all lay responders, such as firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards, coaches, personal trainers, employees in the workplace, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers, and those who may have a need to respond to a cardiac emergency.
Heartsaver CPR in Schools CPR in Schools is a Heartsaver level course designed to teach CPR and choking to middle or high school students. This course is set up on request. Please contact the AHA/EMT Training Center at (973) 831-5172 for additional information.
CPR for Friends and Family The Family & Friends CPR course is an entry-level class that teaches you how to perform CPR and how to help a person who is choking. You will learn to perform these techniques on adults, children and infants. The optional First Aid portion teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child for the first few minutes until professional help arrives. This course is of particular interest to new and expectant parents, relatives, babysitters and seniors. The CPR for Family & Friends program is conducted according to the guidelines of the American Heart Association. Chilton Hospital is accredited by the American Heart Association as a AHA Training Center.
Heartsaver Adult First Aid Course The Heartsaver Adult First Aid Course provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel. The Heartsaver First Aid course consists of General Principles, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies and Environmental Emergencies. This course meets OSHA requirements.
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics include First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, and Environmental Emergencies. Chilton Hospital is accredited by the American Heart Association as a AHA Training Center.
