Five Free Educational Webinars Available for Your Family
12/20/2011

(Pompton Plains, NJ) – Start the new year on a positive note by viewing a free, educational class for you and your family!

Chilton Hospital’s “Chilton Neighbors for Better Health” division offers five free webinars available for viewing anytime, anywhere. “Learning @ Your Leisure” webinars are located at www.chiltonneighbors.org. The following presentations are available:

Internet Safety: The goal of this presentation is to inform adults of the dangers of online predators, and provide tips to keep children safe while using the Internet and other online services (i.e., social networking sites, instant messenger, and chat rooms). This webinar is presented by Detective Supervisor Mark Castellano of the Morris County Prosecutors Office.

Click It: When you take your eyes off the road – to text, read e-mails, dial phone numbers or adjust the radio – your vehicle is still moving forward at a high rate of speed. Drivers aren't looking at the road for an average of at least five seconds. That is enough time at highway speeds to cover a football field with your eyes closed.  When driving your car, put away your phone. If you think you’ll be too tempted, turn off the ringer, put the phone in the glove compartment, or better yet, the trunk!  It only takes five seconds. This webinar is presented by Chilton Hospital Health Educator Marianne Stillman.

50/50 Rule: This program is designed to help adult siblings and their aging parents deal with those sensitive situations that arise among brothers and sisters as their parents age and are in need of assistance. It covers a variety of sibling care-giving topics such as: How do you divide workloads with your sister? What’s the best way to build teamwork with your brothers? How can you reach agreements as a family on important topics to avoid family conflict?  This webinar is presented by Steven Tyburski of Home Instead Senior Care.

Stages of Senior Care: Independent research conducted among adult children as well as seniors, administered by the Boomer Project (www.boomerproject.com) for the Home Instead Senior Care® network, revealed a considerable lack of knowledge throughout all demographics about the senior care options that are currently available and what they cost. This informative presentation and roundtable discussion will highlight many of the options available to seniors and their families today. This webinar is presented by Steven Tyburski of Home Instead Senior Care, Penny Schweizer of Compassionate Care Hospice, Diane Bromberg of Sunrise of Wayne, and Hazel Whitty of Christian Health Care Adult Day Services of Wayne.

Cyber-bullying: This presentation helps participants identify and understand various bullying behaviors, the scope of the bullying problem, who bullies, the warning signs that a person is being bullied and possible legal ramifications. This presentation also provides steps adults can take to address and prevent future incidents of bullying. This webinar is presented by Detective Supervisor Mark Castellano of the Morris County Prosecutors Office.
