Topics include fire safety, helmet protection, lead poisoning and safe play. You will be surprised at which everyday items contain lead! While 1 to 3 percent of all children are born with congenital malformations that might not be preventable, many other disabilities can be prevented through good maternal and child health practices. These can be achieved by making simple changes to our everyday behavior. Light refreshments will be served. Pre-registration is $5.
Grandparents Class: Thursday, April 26, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Chilton Hospital, 97 West Parkway, Pompton Plains, in the Board Room. Old Methods! New Methods! There have been so many changes since your own babies were born. This class will inform new and seasoned grandparents of the current trends and help to develop a better understanding between grandparents and new parents. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss your concerns and the new ideas in childcare. This is a free class, but pre-registration is required.
