Chilton Hospital Commences ‘Thank A Nurse Thursday’ Campaign on Social Media Sites

At Chilton Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ, appreciation for nurses will extend far beyond National Nurses Week, held annually from May 6 to 12.
The “Thank A Nurse Thursday” social media campaign, created by a collaboration between Chilton’s Marketing and Nursing departments, offers a new approach to showing appreciation to its caregivers. The campaign commenced on the hospital’s Facebook and Twitter pages on Thursday, April 5.
New posts are added each Thursday, highlighting a nurse of the week. His or her photo and department is included on the hospital’s Facebook page; a link to the photo is included on its Twitter news feed.
“The Thank A Nurse Thursday campaign sends a message to our community about the importance of nurse’s role in patient outcomes, while reinforcing our mission of personalized care,” explained Chilton Hospital VP and Chief Nurse Officer Joanne Reich, RN, MA, NE-A, BC. “As a community hospital, we’d like our neighbors to view us as part of their extended family, so we aim to familiarize them with our nursing staff to enhance the connection.”
