Elmwood Park resident Marcela Arias won Chilton Hospital’s coveted Service Star Award for June 2012. She is a patient care technician for the hospital’s fourth floor medical/surgical unit (4 East).

Each month, Chilton honors one employee whose performance exceeds expectations and sets him or her apart as a role model for others. Those who nominate Service Star candidates provide testimony about the nominee's exemplary performance.

Service Star honorees are recognized at a monthly ceremony that family members may attend. They receive personal congratulations from hospital administrators, as well as those who have nominated them for the honor and those who work with them. Service Star employees receive recognition by having an actual celestial star named after them. In addition, Service Stars are also granted preferred parking during their Service Star Month.

Chilton Hospital is a fully accredited, 260-bed, acute-care, community hospital. It is a four-time recipient of the HealthGrades Specialty Excellence Award in Stroke, and Five-Star Rated for Stroke Care, the highest possible, for six years in a row.
