The certificates of distinction are in the areas of “Joint Replacement: Hip” and “Joint Replacement: Knee.” The certifications recognize Chilton’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards.
Chilton underwent a rigorous on-site survey in March 2012. The hospital was evaluated for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, including infection prevention and control, leadership and medication management.
"Certification from The Joint Commission ensures the community that we are making a significant investment in health care quality standards,” said Chilton President and CEO Deborah K. Zastocki, DNP, RN. “Our goal is to provide a first-rate orthopedic center for our patients, and achieving certification in knee and hip replacement from The Joint Commission is a major step toward maintaining excellence and continually improving the care we provide at our Total Joint Center.”
Chilton Hospital also holds Disease-Specific Care Certification from The Joint Commission in Stroke Care.
