Chilton Hospital Annual Foundation Gala Raises $180,000 for Modernization Project
02/04/2013

The Chilton Hospital Foundation’s annual fundraising gala was held on Jan. 11 at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ. Pictured at the event are (l to r) Assemblyman Scott T. Rumana (R-40); Valerie and Col. Forrest Chilton IV (grandson of Chilton Hospital’s founder); and Chilton Hospital President and CEO Deborah K. Zastocki, DNP, RN, with husband, Christopher Tighe.

Superstorm Sandy didn’t supersede a super event.

Postponed from Nov. 3, the annual Chilton Hospital Foundation charity gala was held on Jan. 11 at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ. The event raised approximately $180,000, which will be used for the hospital’s ongoing $24 million modernization project, including the Cancer Center at Chilton.

This year’s event black-tie affair, Carnaval “Chilton Style,” featured a Carnaval theme, complete with Brazilian dancers, drummers, stilt walkers and a lavish menu. It also offered a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle with $15,000 in cash prizes.

“I’m proud to announce that the fundraising gala was an enormous success despite the rescheduling due to the hurricane,” said Interim Director of Chilton Hospital Foundation and Director of Community Outreach Joan Beloff. “I’d like to thank the 350 guests who didn’t let bad weather discourage them from helping us fulfill our mission of providing excellent health care for our community.”

Chilton Hospital Foundation Trustee Bruce Dolin and wife, Sandra, were co-chairs of the event. Special guests included Assemblyman Scott T. Rumana (R-40) and Col. Forrest Chilton IV, the grandson of Chilton Hospital’s founder.

The annual gala honored local philanthropists Mimi and Eddie Feliciano. Mimi is former president and owner, and Eddie is former vice president of the Jerry and Dolores Turco Medical Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln Park, NJ. Mimi and Eddie share Chilton Hospital’s philosophy of personalized care in a healing environment.
