Chilton Hospital Offers Stroke Screenings to the Community for National Stroke Awareness Month 04/18/2013
Stroke is the No. 4 cause of death and the leading cause of adult disability in the United States.
In honor of National Stroke Awareness Month, Chilton Hospital’s Community Outreach Department is raising stroke awareness through two stroke screenings. They will be held on Thursday, May 2, from 4 to 6 p.m., and Monday, May 13, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Chilton Health Network building, 242 West Parkway, Pompton Plains.
The screenings include:
Blood pressure screening
Carotid bruits assessment
Atrial fibrillation through pulse palpitation
Health education counseling and materials
Additional information about the screenings:
May 2: includes total, HDL and TC/HDL ratio. Fasting is not required.
May 13: includes total, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and TC/HDL ratio. Fasting is recommended for accurate results, but not required.
