Chilton Hospital Foundation Celebrates ‘A Roaring New Era’ at its Annual Fundraising Gala on November 2|
Isobel Wayrick, honoree of the Chilton Hospital Foundation 2013 annual charity gala, welcomes the public to the November 2 event at The Grove in Cedar Grove, NJ, where the roaring twenties-themed affair will take place.
The annual Chilton Hospital Foundation charity gala will be held on Saturday, November 2, from 6 p.m. until midnight, at The Grove, 691 Pomton Avenue, Cedar Grove, NJ.
The 2013 gala committee is once again planning an exciting, black tie affair of dancing and festivities, together with a lavish menu. Chilton Pathologist Dr. Essam Ahmed, M.D., and Ginan Rauf, Ph.D., are co-chairs of the event. This year’s theme is “A Roaring New Era.” Atlantic Health System will be the major sponsor for the 2013 event.
“The roaring twenties was a historic era of jubilation and prosperity,” said Dr. Ahmed. “We chose this theme for this year’s fundraising gala to reflect the hospital-wide sense of hope that we experiencing as we anticipate the impending merger with Atlantic Health System. This will certainly be a new era of improved health care services for our community, and it is cause for celebration.”
A silent auction will offer the opportunity to bid on fabulous prizes, such as gorgeous jewelry, fabulous furs and vacation getaways, as well as antiques from the 1920s. A limited 50/50 raffle will offer $15,000 in cash prizes.
The 2013 gala honors local philanthropist and award-winning photographer Isobel Wayrick of Pompton Plains. Wayrick is the former president of GR Technical Services, Inc., Mountainside, NJ, and is the current vice president of Mars International, Inc., Piscataway, NJ. She currently serves as secretary/treasurer of the Chilton Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees. Wayrick is also president of the Garden State Woman Education Fund, treasurer of the NJ Audubon Society Board and is active in the Plastic Pioneers Association. She has traveled around the world, including Antarctica, to capture photos that have earned her recognition from the Smithsonian Institute.
The annual gala and other events held by the Chilton Hospital Foundation will continue to help support Chilton’s $5 million Capital Campaign. The Campaign was created to bolster the hospital’s Strategic Plan, which includes the following goals:
- Converting more than two-thirds of patient rooms into private spaces
- Acquiring advanced technologies that maximize patient care
- Building ambulatory centers that optimize patient convenience
- Enhancement of treatment areas to promote personalized care
- Creating an electronic data management system that streamlines and improves patient care
- Expanding and modernizing the Chilton Cancer Center, utilizing the latest trends in cancer center design

The gala fundraising event gives us the opportunity to invest into our mission to ensure that Chilton will continue as destination for high quality care, close to home.”
Tickets are available for $400. A “Corporate Sponsor” package is available for $4,500, and includes a table for 10 with a table sign, as well as a listing in the new online Ad Journal and the Chilton website.
