Kinnelon Girl Scouts Restore Garden of Hope for The Breast Center Patients at Chilton Hospital 10/30/2013
A team of 16 Girl Scouts from Troop 468 in Kinnelon, NJ, recently restored the Garden of Hope outside The Breast Center at Chilton Hospital for their “Take Action” project. Take Action is one of the three “National Leadership Journeys” for Girl Scouts. Not pictured are: Melissa Franklin, Vanessa Gorman, Jaclyn Kelly, Sierra Leavenworth, Lindsay Logue and MacKenzie Orr. The Garden of Hope was completed in 2007 by Amanda Fierro of Pequannock. At the time, she was a 17-year-old Pequannock High School senior whose project earned her the Gold Award, the highest honor from the Girl Scouts of America. Fierro created the Garden of Hope to offer peace of mind for individuals coping with breast cancer.
