Chilton Foundation Annual Gala raises $209,000|
The annual Chilton Medical Center Foundation charity gala, held in December, experienced record-breaking attendance and raised net proceeds of $209,000 to support the programs and services of the hospital. More than 400 guests attended this year’s black tie affair, themed “Enchanted Winter Wonderland” at The Grove in Cedar Grove.
The event featured Alice Gainer, a Wayne, NJ native, and EMMY Award winning Anchor/Reporter for WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV, as mistress of ceremonies. This year’s co-chairs were Wayne residents Barbara and Doug Schwartz. Atlantic Health System and Dr. Robert A. Kayal of Kayal Orthopaedic Center, were event sponsors.
The gala honored local philanthropists Jackie and Aaron Van Duyne III. As longtime residents of Montville, Jackie and Aaron have come to call Chilton Medical Center their hospital. Aaron has been a board member at Chilton since 2005 and has been an active participant on numerous steering committees. Jackie, once a volunteer in Chilton’s Endoscopy Department, is a proud advocate for Chilton’s Breast Center. As a breast cancer survivor, she understands how important it is to have top quality care delivered by compassionate, friendly staff, right in her own neighborhood. Aaron is a senior principal in the accounting firm Van Duyne, Bruno & Co., P.A. and is the founding member of White Hat Management Services, LLC. Jackie and Aaron have endowed the Aaron and Jacqueline Van Duyne Oncology Nursing Scholarship at William Paterson University and are also contributors to the Montville Library, St. Pius Church and Hometown Heroes.
The annual gala and other events held by the Chilton Medical Center Foundation support the programs and services provided by Chilton Medical Center. “Every day at Chilton Medical Center provides a new opportunity to witness extraordinary care in action,” said Deborah K. Zastocki, DNP, RN, president of Chilton Medical Center. “This year’s gala reflected our longstanding commitment to improve the health care services we provide for our communities. These events allow us the opportunity to invest in our mission to ensure that Chilton continues to serve as the destination for high quality, compassionate care close to home.”
