Chilton Medical Center Partners With Cedar Crest Village to Offer On-Site Medical Care|
Chilton Medical Center and Cedar Crest Village, a retirement village in Pompton Plains, recently unveiled a unique concept that enables older adults to easily and more conveniently access specialty care.
This groundbreaking partnership brings specialty medical services right to the residents’ doorstep – allowing them to visit physicians “at home” rather than traveling to doctors’ offices.
Chilton has arranged for specialists to see patients at Cedar Crest in a newly built, dedicated treatment suite right on their campus, located near other existing health services like primary care and an in house pharmacy. The areas of medical specialty include cardiology, vascular medicine, medical oncology, urogynecology, neurology, orthopedics and gastroenterology.
This is a tremendous benefit to many Cedar Crest residents burdened by mobility issues, lack of transportation or other obstacles that may cause unnecessary stress or missed medical appointments. It also serves to help this vulnerable population manage their care more effectively, especially those dealing with chronic conditions.
This recent grand opening event brought together leadership representing both Chilton and Cedar Crest leadership, physicians participating in this endeavor and the residents who will ultimately benefit from the increased access the specialty care.
