Whether you’re recovering from heart surgery or a heart attack, living with heart disease or currently at risk, our experienced professionals offer the care and guidance you need to safely improve your physical fitness. We’ll help you build a lifetime commitment to heart health.
What is Cardiac Rehabilitation?
Chilton's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is for individuals who have recently recovered from angioplasty or heart surgery, as well as those who have experienced angina or a heart attack within the last 12 months. This customized, medically supervised program combines exercise, education, stress management and nutrition counseling to help patients build strength and improve their heart health.
In many cases, cardiac rehabilitation begins with a medically supervised, 12-week outpatient program tailored to your particular condition and goals. But that’s just a start. One of the best ways to keep your heart healthy is to stay fit. That’s why Chilton Hospital also offers a Cardiac Rehabilitation Maintenance Program – so you can continue your workouts at Chilton, if you so choose, without missing a beat.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Maintenance Program
Many individuals who complete the first phase of cardiac rehabilitation, as well as those at risk for heart disease, prefer the security and consistency of a hospital-based fitness environment to the local gym or working out at home.
Chilton’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Maintenance Program offers a safe, effective alternative, allowing you to exercise under the watchful eye of skilled health professionals while offering valuable peace of mind – for you and your loved ones.
Our nationally certified program features:
- One-on-one guidance from registered nurses, exercise physiologists and other heart health specialists
- A personalized exercise plan developed by our staff
- Daily blood pressure monitoring
- Monthly cardiac monitoring
- A full range of cardiovascular exercise equipment
- Easy access to Chilton’s continuum of services, including smoking cessation programs, cholesterol screenings, nutrition counseling and stress management classes
