Chilton Neighbors for Better Health

Chilton Neighbors for Better HealthSince 1996, Chilton Neighbors for Better Health (CNBH) has served as Chilton Medical Center's community lifeline, one that has enabled Chilton to build a strong partnership with the many civic, cultural, spiritual, social and governmental organizations that form the backbone of our respective communities. In recent years, this working partnership has identified unmet health needs, established important health priorities and planned new health initiatives for the benefit of all whom Chilton serves.

CNBH is funded through Chilton's Community Outreach Department. Six times per year, CNBH members meet and discuss how Chilton Medical Center can fulfill its critical mission of promoting good health within our communities. CNBH aids Chilton in accomplishing its mission by "optimizing community leadership and resources" to address a specific "spectrum of needs in order to improve health status and wellness" in our communities.

Some of the issues that CNBH has addressed include: eating disorders, depression, misuse of prescription drugs, gang awareness in suburbia, post-traumatic stress disorder, blended families, caregiving issues, designer drugs and teens, alcohol and teens, obesity and teen anger.

If you are interested in joining this important group, please contact Joan Beloff, Community Outreach Director at (973) 831-5167.

Click It
When you take your eyes off the road - to text, read an email, dial the phone, adjust the radio - your vehicle is still moving forward at a high rate of speed. Drivers aren't looking at the road for an average of at least five seconds. That is enough time at highway speeds to cover a football field with your eyes closed. When driving your car, put away your phone. If you think you'll be too tempted, turn off the ringer, put the phone in the glove compartment, or better yet, the trunk! It only takes 5 seconds.
