We offer a host of courses, seminars and special events on all kinds of parenting topics, from breastfeeding your newborn to training your teenage babysitter. Childbirth Preparation Course Nervous? Excited? A little of both? Get ready for your special delivery by learning everything you need to know, including: stages of labor and birth, the partner's role, coping techniques (Lamaze breathing and other methods of relaxation), pain management options, postpartum care and preparing for parenthood. This comprehensive, four-week session program addresses every aspect of childbirth and wraps up with a tour of Chilton's new Mother Baby Center.

Childbirth Education Online Are you unable to attend conventional prenatal classes due to bed rest, scheduling conflicts or time constraints? Chilton Hospital offers a Web-based alternative suitable for any parent. The eLearning Childbirth Education Program is an interactive class that covers everything in the Childbirth Preparation/Lamaze program. After signing up, you will receive a password and instructions. Breastfeeding Discover the benefits of breastfeeding while receiving information on prenatal preparation, positioning, nutrition and tips for making this a positive experience for mom and baby. This one-session class is for moms only. May 15 and June 18

Baby Basics If you're wondering about bottles, burpies and binkies, join us for a class covering all the baby basics. Baby's First Six Months Spend an evening with one of our pediatricians, who will discuss parenting in the first six months of life as well as important decisions to make before baby is born. Sibling Preparation Class Welcoming a new brother or sister is a special experience. This fun, educational program, developed for children ages 3 to 9, prepares siblings for their growing family. Stroller Strides® Stroller Strides is a total fitness program that moms can do with their babies. It includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exericse tubing, the stroller and the environment. This unique program also provides moms with the opportunity to meet other moms and form long lasting friendships! It is designed to give mothers the "Strength for Motherhood!" Required bands will be available for purchase at class. Mommy & Me Fusion Mommy & Me Fusion is a six-week exercise program for mom and baby. B Fit Studio uses techniques from signature classes to create the ultimate fitness package. Introduction classes are Zumba, Yoga and The Fusion Method, a light boot camp for all fitness levels. All three classes will help moms regain their strength, while bonding with baby. Moms are encouraged to purchase Fusion weighted gloves for all classes. B Fit Studio will have extra gloves for new members. Safe Sitter Is your "baby" ready for babysitting? Life After Gestational Diabetes for Me and My Baby Now that you've had gestational diabetes, come to this workshop to learn strategies to decrease your risk for Type 2 diabetes and your baby's risk for childhood obesity. Breastfeeding Warm Line Breastfeeding sounds like it would come naturally, but unexpected issues may occur. Problems such as plugged ducts, leaking and other normal occurences can lead to anxiety and stress. For any questions or concerns about breastfeeding, Chilton Hospital's MotherBaby Center offers a Breastfeeding Warm Line for support and personalized care. It's free of charge and your call will be answered within 24 hours. Our specialists, who are available between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., can determine whether you need a physicians' order for a lactation consultant.
