| Our on-site oncology social worker is available to help patients and their families as they navigate the cancer experience and cope with the psychological and emotional aspects of illness. Support services include a Woman-to-Woman Support Group, which provides a nurturing, empowering forum for female patients and survivors, as well as one-on-one guidance for such issues as transportation, financial assistance and counseling.
As part of our cancer program, patients also have access to a registered dietician who can help them overcome the potential side effects of cancer treatment, such as nausea, weight loss or weight gain, while also improving overall nutrition and health.
Additionally, patients may take advantage of the many screenings and educational programs offered through Chilton's Community Outreach Department as well as the Cancer Center's Resource Library, which offers an array of books, a touch screen computer and a television with VHS and DVD players for sharing information.
